Christopher Adkins
Vice President - Yield Strategy and Management
ArcBest

Christopher Adkins is the Vice President of Yield Strategy and Management at ArcBest. With over eleven years of experience, he leads the teams responsible for guiding ArcBest’s strategic yield initiatives with the goal of optimizing for profitable growth while providing exceptional services to customers at a competitive price. Christopher has led several high-impact, strategic initiatives that have played a significant role in ArcBest becoming a $5 billion logistics company.

Among Christopher’s most notable work achievements is his contribution to ArcBest’s Dynamic Less-than-Truckload (LTL) Pricing initiative. Dynamic LTL Pricing was introduced in response to customers seeking ways to manage their transportation spend better and needing to pivot quickly when capacity issues limit their ability to serve their customers well. In collaboration with ArcBest Technologies, his team created this first-of-its-kind technology that uses machine learning to predict current market prices, connects shippers with available capacity in the ABF Freight network, and ultimately provides real-time pricing without the need to negotiate a published price.

Christopher also led the automation of volume price quotes and tractor detention charges — helping the company transition from less-efficient manual processes to automated processes that improve customer experiences and enhance the productivity of these two pricing structures.

Christopher was named Vice President of Yield Strategy and Management in June 2023 after serving as Vice President of Yield Strategy and Analytics since January 2022. He joined the company in 2012 as a Pricing Analyst and has served in various leadership roles, including Manager of Engineering and Technology and Director of Yield Strategy. Christopher holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from the University of Arkansas.
