ABF Freight doesn't stand for anything today, but its name reflects a proud history. The company was originally "Arkansas Best Freight" after a 1956 acquisition of Best Motor Freight, but the name ABF is now simply synonymous with reliable LTL service.
How many locations and dock doors does ABF have?
ABF operates 240 service centers with more than 9,500 dock doors across the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico. These facilities serve as hubs for sorting, transferring and staging freight, helping shipments move quickly and efficiently from origin to destination.
Where are you based out of?
Both ArcBest and its LTL carrier ABF Freight are headquartered in Fort Smith, Arkansas. This is the same city where the company was founded in 1923.
