James Curtis is an Albuquerque, New Mexico Road Driver. He has been a professional truck driver for 30 years and has accumulated well over 2 million accident-free miles.
He would like for Americans to know truck drivers for what they really are — safety-minded, hardworking and dedicated individuals. "It is important that we, as truck drivers, communicate our commitment to courtesy and safety on the road. I love people and try to be courteous, open and friendly to those around me. I would like for truck drivers to truly be the heroes of the highway. I'm proud of ABF and I'm proud to be a truck driver. My safety record speaks for my commitment to my job and profession."
In May 1987, he was named New Mexico Motor Carrier Association's "Driver of the Month."
Jim has served his church as a Sunday School teacher, and he has coached Little League baseball and softball for over 20 years. He has also volunteered his services to a home for cancer patients in his hometown.
