Award-Winning Training and Development Programs
ArcBest has once again been named to Training magazine’s APEX Awards list, ranking No. 17 in 2023. This is the seventh consecutive year we have ranked in the top 20, establishing the company as a leading organization that excels at employee training and development.

Training and development begin on day one during orientation and continue throughout an employee’s lifecycle. Through online learning, live webinars and in-person instruction, we engage our people at every stage of their careers with impactful coaching and resources — from our field teams and drivers to our campus and remote workers.
Training APEX Awards ranks organizations with the most successful training and people development programs in the world. Any non-training company can apply, and applications are scored quantitively by an external research company and qualitatively by Training’s editor/publisher and the Training Hall of Famers. To qualify, applicants must include information about their overall program, budget, tuition reimbursement options, infrastructure and delivery, evaluation and metrics, and human resources department. In 2023, Training ranked 105 organizations.
Training Highlights
Each year, we encourage employees to participate in programs, classes and courses that can help them grow professionally and personally. Our training focuses on various topics, including leadership, customer experience, operations, safety, environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG), diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), and more.
In 2022, our people continued learning, with every nonunion employee participating in at least one training course. Check out these highlights:

Over 48,000 enrollments in our online or instructor-led training courses, with almost 800 unique course titles available

Approximately 80% of those enrollments were in self-guided online courses

Approximately 20% of those enrollments were in instructor-led training courses via webinar or in-person
