Get the details on Panther’s holiday season empty move program
Running empty is a missed opportunity to make money. So, if you’re driving home during your preferred holiday time, we want to get you loaded with freight headed in the same direction. As a secondary option, Panther can arrange an empty move with paid repositioning miles (at a rate similar to deadhead miles). Either way, you get paid for your time behind the wheel.
Decide when you want to go home
The program covers holiday season empty moves starting Thanksgiving Week 2023 through Jan. 6, 2024. You may choose only one date within that window to go home, either with a shipment or paid repositioning miles.
Thanksgiving home time requests may be made starting November 17. December home time requests may be made beginning November 24.
Qualifying for an empty move
To qualify for a holiday empty move during Thanksgiving Week, you must:
- Be fully available to work Nov. 10-23
- Accept all freight with no valid refusals from Nov. 10 through the date you are issued your empty move
- Request your move through whoever oversees your fleet
To qualify for a holiday empty move from Thanksgiving through Jan. 6, 2024, you must:
- Be fully available to work for two weeks from the date you request home time (not from the date you want to be home)
- Accept all freight with no valid refusals for two weeks from the date you want to be home
- Request your move through whoever oversees your fleet

Requesting an empty move
You can request home time by following the automated prompts in the Fleet Mobile app 24/7 through the Panther Fleet Mobile app. For empty move requests, contact the Panther Fleet Experience team via the Fleet Mobile app or by calling Panther Fleet Experience at (800) 830-7592.
What to do if something compromises your availability
We understand that unexpected circumstances — like a weather-related delay, a safety issue or a vehicle repair — can take you off the road for a while. If something prevents you from meeting the qualifications for an empty move, contact a Fleet Experience representative for help as soon as possible.
