The Idaho Trucking Association has chosen an ABF Freight® driver as the 2017 Idaho Driver of the Year.
Tim Melody, an ABF Freight road driver based in Ontario, Oregon, was named Driver of the Year during the Idaho Trucking Association’s annual convention in Boise, Idaho.
“Tim is a consummate professional,” said ABF Freight President Tim Thorne. “I’m proud of his commitment to safety and how he represents ABF Freight and the trucking industry.”
Melody, an Army veteran, has been a professional driver for 27 years, the last 11 with ABF Freight. He has earned recognition as a member of America’s Road Team (2017-18), the ABF Freight Road Team (2016-17, 2014-15) and Wisconsin Driver of the Month (1998). He has received the 1 Million Safe Driving Award and the 25 Years Safe Driving Certificate.
Melody is a two-time champion in the Twins class at the Idaho Truck Driving Championships. In 2013, he was grand champion at the state level and went on to win first place in the Twins class at the National Truck Driving Championships.
