Highlighting a year of strategic growth at ArcBest
While 2022 had its share of supply chain challenges, ArcBest found success by harnessing both the strength of our solutions and the resolve of our people. Throughout the year, our employees demonstrated a commitment to serving our customers with excellence, while also contributing to record company revenues. We put ourselves in our customers’ shoes, built trusted, collaborative partnerships and implemented solutions and strategies that aligned with our customers’ needs — helping them achieve their goals.

Taking a look back at 2022, these are some of our most significant achievements:
Our training program was recognized once again for peak performance
Training magazine’s APEX Awards honored ArcBest’s employee training program for the 13th consecutive year. We were ranked No. 14 in 2022, up from No. 16 the previous year. Through ongoing learning and development, our people constantly grow and improve their knowledge and skills to serve our customers better.
We were awarded a Bronze medal from EcoVadis
Following the release of ArcBest’s third annual ESG Report and completion of a sustainability assessment in the first quarter of 2022, ArcBest received the EcoVadis Bronze medal sustainability rating for the second consecutive year.
EcoVadis benchmarks the quality of companies’ ESG performance across 21 indicators in the categories of environment, labor and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. This rating recognized ArcBest’s sustainability performance in the top half of all companies and industries rated across the world. Building a more sustainable world is beneficial for our customers, employees and communities.
ArcBest LTL carrier ABF Freight was named a SmartWay High Performer
For the fifth consecutive year, ABF was selected as a 2022 SmartWay High Performer in the multimodal carriers category, recognizing partners who meet sustainability criteria for emissions. This award considers freight efficiency and emissions data and highlights our pursuit to provide more sustainable transportation options.
We partnered with Integrate Autism Employment Advisors
We announced a partnership with Integrate Autism Employment Advisors, a non-profit organization that collaborates with companies to identify, recruit and retain professionals on the autism spectrum, to create a hiring program that fosters a neuroinclusive workforce. This partnership enables us to continue serving our customers well by providing a diverse workforce that includes talent with special skill sets and unique approaches to solving problems.
We made technology investments
In January 2022, ArcBest announced a $25 million investment in Phantom Auto — the leading provider of human-centered remote operation software. This investment centers around remote-operated forklifts and was developed for use in ArcBest customer locations. It aligns strategically with our long-term goals and complements our existing innovation initiatives, technology roadmap and partnerships — building on the important work already underway to support our customers’ success.

Looking ahead to 2023
We’re incredibly excited to begin our centennial celebration in 2023 — marking our company’s 100th anniversary. While we take time to look back at and celebrate the history that made us who we are today, we remain focused on doing what we’ve done for the last 100 years: finding a way to get the job done, no matter what. We’re committed to listening and creating meaningful partnerships with our customers so that we can help solve their supply chain challenges, regardless of what’s happening in the market.
