Best Company to Work For award
For the Best Company to Work For award, U.S. News selected companies from the Russell 3000 index as of June 2023 that had at least 75 U.S.-based Glassdoor reviews between 2020 and 2023. They also categorized the companies by industry using Industry Classification Benchmark standards and U.S. News’ editorial judgement. Next, they evaluated public data and employee feedback on how well each company supports its employees in six metrics on a 5-point scale: quality of pay and benefits, work/life balance and flexibility, job and company stability, physical and psychological comfort, belongingness and esteem, and career opportunities and professional development. The Best Companies to Work For list included companies with the highest composite scores. More on U.S. News & World Report’s methodology.
Best Leadership Teams award
The Best Leadership Teams award is based on what employees said about their leaders on Comparably, a website that collects anonymous ratings on companies. Comparably looked at ratings from employees of large companies (with more than 500 employees) from May 2023-May 2024. To qualify, large companies had to have a minimum of 75 employee participants. The final data set was compiled from 15 million ratings across 70,000 companies. The award list includes the top 100 companies with the highest scores.
