ArcBest is a leading place to work
ArcBest was named one of America’s Best Large Employers of 2025 by Forbes and Statista, ranking No. 364. This is the fourth year we’ve been included on this prestigious list (also in 2024, 2021 and 2016), strengthening our position as a leading place to work across the U.S. and in the transportation and logistics industry.
"Our values-driven culture continues to be a differentiator. We’re intentional with employee initiatives and development programs that help our people feel engaged, well-supported and encouraged to expand their skills — from day one through retirement," said Erin Gattis, chief human resources officer at ArcBest. "We’re committed to improving our employees’ experiences and providing them with the tools and resources they need to grow and thrive, both personally and professionally.”
Taking action to support our people
For over a decade, we’ve distributed an annual confidential employee survey that provides critical insight and feedback on areas where we’re doing good and areas for improvement. This feedback drives our People & Culture initiatives. 2024 initiatives included:
-
Training 5,000 employees on our problem elimination process, empowering them to identify and resolve inefficiencies
-
Restructuring job architectures to improve career visibility and mobility
-
Launching a new unified careers site to improve employee and applicant experiences
-
Establishing recognition programs to honor our people in unique ways
-
Adding health programs to our robust benefits package that support employees and their families in various stages of life
America’s Best Large Employers methodology
Now in its tenth year, the Forbes America’s Best Large Employers 2025 Award is based on independent survey responses from over 217,000 U.S. employees working at companies with a national workforce of at least 1,000 people. Over 6.5 million personal and public employer evaluations were considered, with a much higher weighting for personal evaluations. Candidates were assessed on key elements, including Atmosphere & Development, Salary & Wage, Company Image, Diversity, Working Conditions and Workplace Environment. Thousands of companies were considered, and only the top 700 were recognized.
