ABF receives highest security recognition for motor carriers in the U.S.
ArcBest® LTL carrier ABF Freight® received the prestigious American Trucking Associations’ (ATA) 2024 Excellence in Security Award, highlighting our longstanding commitment to being a leader in transportation security and superior ability to protect our employees, cargo, property and trucks. ABF is the only LTL carrier to achieve this honor 11 times.
The ATA Excellence in Security Award is given to one motor carrier each year. This year it was presented on April 24 at the annual Safety, Security & Human Resources National Conference & Exhibition Awards Banquet. ABF also won in 2023, 2019, 2016, 2015, 2011, 2009, 2007, 2005, 2004 and 2001.
“ABF is setting the standard for safety and security in LTL operations. Receiving this distinguished award for the 11th time highlights our incredible ABF Safety and Security teams and their diligence in prioritizing safety to help keep our facilities, our people, our customers’ freight and America’s roadways safe and secure,” said Matt Godfrey, ABF Freight president. “This recognition, along with ABF exceeding Mastio’s industry benchmarks for the 19th time in 2024, underscores our ongoing commitment to serving our customers with excellence. Congrats to the team on this achievement!”
The ATA Excellence in Security award is the only nationally recognized trucking security award of its kind. All applicants were evaluated based on the extent and effectiveness of their security programs, including security policies, procedures, training and records. The committee that evaluated the entries looked for companies that have the plan, equipment and trained staff to avoid harm to and loss of personnel, property, trucks and cargo above all others in the industry. The committee also weighed the size of the fleet, staff and program budget relative to the company’s successful experience. All companies in good standing of either ATA or TSC were eligible to apply.
