Honoring ABF’s Top-Performing Service Centers of 2023
ArcBest LTL carrier ABF Freight has awarded five service centers the prestigious President’s Quality Award, honoring each location’s commitment to our Quality Process and exceptional customer care. This is the highest internal honor an ABF service center can receive.
Recipients for the 2023 President’s Quality Awards include service centers located in: Dayton, Ohio; Lansing, Michigan; Quebec, Canada; San Bernadino, California; and South Bend, Indiana.
Each year, the President’s Quality Awards are presented to ABF service centers that provide the highest standards of service. Winners are selected based on annual performance evaluations from ABF Operations, Safety and Customer Experience, and an on-site audit conducted by our internal Quality Committee that measures key performance indicators like damage and loss prevention, customer satisfaction and resource management.

Celebrating 40 Years of the ABF Freight Quality Process
Though Quality is always top-of-mind for service centers across the ABF network, 2024 is a special year as it marks the 40th anniversary of the ABF Quality Process. Established in 1984 and based on Philip Crosby’s quality management framework, The Quality Process guides employees in implementing creative problem-solving solutions in a collaborative environment utilizing a 5-step problem elimination process — defining the problem, identifying the root cause, and taking corrective action to prevent future issues. It also encourages employees to follow up to ensure no other problems exist and that the right solution is implemented. Taking these steps adds value to our operations and helps ABF provide an excellent customer experience. The 2023 President’s Quality Award recipients exemplify the Quality Process.
