Best Companies to Work For methodology
To create the Best Companies to Work For list, U.S. News evaluated the largest 5,000 publicly traded U.S. companies as of January 2025. Companies needed at least 75 employee reviews on Glassdoor from 2021 to 2024 to qualify, narrowing the field to 2,119. Rankings were based on six key metrics reflecting employee sentiment: quality of pay and benefits, work-life balance and flexibility, job and company stability, physical and psychological comfort, belongingness and esteem, and career opportunities and professional development. Analysts used data from partners including Revelio Labs, Good Jobs First’s Violation Tracker, and QUODD.
Best Leadership Teams methodology
Comparably’s 8th annual list of Best Leadership Teams is segmented by large companies (more than 500 employees) and small/mid-size companies (up to 500 employees). The list is derived from employees who anonymously rated their CEOs, executive leaders and direct managers on Comparably.com. Questions were asked in a variety of data-driven formats, and answers received a numerical score and were compared to companies of similar size. Additional weight was given to companies with more participation from their employee base, relative to their company size, for statistical significance. Final rankings were determined based on millions of ratings across tens of thousands of U.S. and Canadian-based companies between May 12, 2024, and May 12, 2025.
