ArcBest University: College of Achieve
Our leadership programs are part of ArcBest University, our internal training and development platform. Through ArcBest U, employees can advance their skills through a blend of in-person and online courses, structured into three colleges: Learn, Perform and Achieve. Leadership training is housed under the College of Achieve, which is dedicated to equipping employees for every level of responsibility across the company.
The College of Achieve offers a range of training programs, each geared toward an employee’s unique development journey. The primary programs are Aspiring Leaders, Leadership Series and Leadership Academy. These programs provide structured learning paths and opportunities for both personal and professional growth. In addition to these main programs, the College of Achieve offers courses covering essential leadership skills that are tailored to reflect ArcBest’s unique culture, values and strategic goals.
Aspiring Leaders
For those interested in future management roles, the Aspiring Leaders Program provides a structured way to start building essential skills. Participants are placed in cohort groups where they engage in self-guided learning, group discussions and reading, which build skills related to our core values Creativity, Integrity, Collaboration, Growth, Excellence and Wellness.
Leadership Series
The Leadership Series is a 10-part training course for current and emerging leaders. Participants, nominated by their supervisors, cover essential practices like trust building, employee development and clear communication. This hands-on, interactive series helps prepare our leaders for any challenge.
Leadership Academy
The Leadership Academy is our premier development program. Each year, 32 high-potential employees are nominated and selected to participate in this multi-day program. Through self-evaluations, skill development and peer networking, participants grow their personal and community leadership capabilities while building lasting connections. The program culminates in a graduation event that honors their achievements.
Leader Launch Kit
When employees transition into a new leadership role, we want to set them up for success. Our Leader Launch Kits provide new leaders with the tools, resources and clear steps to establish themselves quickly in their roles. These kits help them feel confident and prepared to guide their teams from day one.
Executive Leadership Training
Our commitment to leadership development doesn’t stop at mid-level management. We provide ongoing individual and team development to help our senior executives continue to grow their expertise, balancing long-term vision with day-to-day execution.
