Supporting and empowering women in the trucking industry
ArcBest was recognized by the Women in Trucking Association (WIT) as a 2024 Top Company for Women to Work in Transportation, achieving a spot on “The Elite 30” list. The award celebrates companies that promote gender diversity, offer competitive compensation and benefits, have flexible hours and work requirements, and provide professional development and career advancement opportunities.
“Our people are at the heart of our success, and that includes the thousands of incredible women who are part of ArcBest’s diverse, values-driven culture. They bring so many unique and invaluable skills to the workplace that are integral to keeping the global supply chain moving,” said Erin Gattis, ArcBest chief human resources officer. “We’re honored to be named to Women in Trucking’s Elite 30 list. It’s a testament to ArcBest’s commitment to providing an exceptional employee experience that offers opportunities for growth and development, fosters collaboration and prioritizes wellness.”
WIT selects winners using a three-part process. First is a nomination explaining what makes the company worthy of being recognized and identifying attributes that appeal to women. Companies must also participate in the WIT index, which tracks the percentage of women in various roles. The Women in Trucking Association evaluates these, and then an industry-wide vote is conducted involving more than 31,000 professionals in transportation, including executive management, operations, HR/talent management executives and professional drivers. The companies that receive the highest number of votes are named “The Elite 30.”
