Seth Runser
ABF Freight

Seth Runser was named President of ABF Freight® in July 2021. In this role, he oversees all operational and strategic initiatives for ArcBest® less-than-truckload carrier ABF Freight.

Seth joined ABF in 2007 as a management trainee and has gained extensive knowledge working in various roles across the country — including serving as Operations Supervisor, Regional Training Specialist, Service Center Manager and Regional Vice President – Operations. In 2019 he relocated to the corporate headquarters in Fort Smith where he served as Vice President of Linehaul Operations then was subsequently named Chief Operating Officer in February 2021 and ABF President in July 2021.   

Seth is an Arkansas Trucking Association board member and holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Kent State University. 

Michael E. Newcity
ArcBest Technologies

Michael E. Newcity was named President of ArcBest Technologies, an ArcBest® company, as well as ArcBest Corporation’s Senior Vice President - Chief Innovation Officer, effective January 2015.

Mr. Newcity began his career with Data-Tronics Corp. (now ArcBest Technologies) in 1993. He also served as Manager of E-Systems & Market Development and Manager of E-Commerce at ABF Freight® and Director of E-Systems & Emerging Technologies and Director of Economic Analysis at ArcBest Corporation. He was named ArcBest’s Chief Financial Officer in 2010, and in August 2013, his responsibilities were expanded to oversee corporate information technology and economic analysis as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer. He served as ArcBest's CFO and CIO through the end of 2014.

He holds a bachelor's degree in computer information systems from the University of Arkansas, which awarded him the Senior Honor Citation, the university’s top undergraduate honor. He also holds an M.B.A. from the Walton College at the University of Arkansas and received the Donald W. Reynolds Governor’s Cup for promoting entrepreneurship.

Gary Cummings
Gary Cummings

Gary Cummings is the Chief Executive Officer of FleetNet America, an ArcBest company, and also serves as Vice President of Process and System Optimization for ArcBest. Having dedicated more than 30 years to the industry with experience in accounting, information technology, strategy and process control, he leads each of these areas with vast transportation and logistics knowledge and expertise.

As CEO of FleetNet America — ArcBest’s best-in-class fleet maintenance and repair service — Gary combines vision casting with current opportunities to position the company for long-term success. In just 15 years, he has helped grow FleetNet annual revenues from $30 million to over $330 million, where he has led the charge to make the company’s well-established business model more efficient and customer focused.

As VP of Process and System Optimization at ArcBest, Gary evaluates and implements processes and systems strategies used in ArcBest’s asset-light operations. In this role, he helps leadership envision how technology and processes can meet customer and capacity needs to ultimately make doing business with ArcBest easier. His expertise and direction in this area contributed to the development of ArcBest’s Shipment Visibility Platform — a system that consolidates customers’ shipments in one place, providing instant visibility and real-time data to help make more informed, proactive decisions.

Gary has been affiliated with ArcBest in various capacities since 1992. He joined FleetNet America in 2005 and held the roles of Vice President of Corporate Services and President and Chief Operating Officer until, 2011 when he became FleetNet America’s Chief Executive Officer. In 2019, Gary concurrently became Vice President of Business Platforms for ArcBest, then in 2022 moved into the Vice President of Process and System Optimization role at ArcBest, which he holds in addition to CEO of FleetNet America. Gary is a licensed CPA and has earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Southern Nazarene University.

John Wood
FleetNet America

Mr. Wood joined FleetNet in 2012 as Executive Vice President of Finance & Administration, bringing over 27 years of expertise in finance and administration management. Prior to joining FleetNet, he was Controller for DeWitt Petroleum, CFO of GI Trucking and Revenue Control Manager for Carolina Freight Carriers. He became President of FleetNet on December 1, 2018.
