Tim Thorne
ABF Freight

Tim Thorne became President of ABF Freight®, an ArcBest® company, on October 15, 2014. Mr. Thorne joined ABF Freight in Orlando, Florida, in 1990 after serving as a captain in the U.S. Army. During his tenure, he has served as Vice President of Linehaul Operations based in Fort Smith, Arkansas, and Regional Vice President of Operations based in Salt Lake City, Utah. He also has managed ABF Freight service centers in Florence and Decatur, Alabama; Nashville, Tennessee; and Carlisle, Pennsylvania.

Mr. Thorne earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Oklahoma and a Master of Business Administration from the University of North Alabama.

Michael E. Newcity
ArcBest Technologies

Michael E. Newcity was named President of ArcBest Technologies, an ArcBest® company, as well as ArcBest Corporation’s Senior Vice President - Chief Innovation Officer, effective January 2015.

Mr. Newcity began his career with Data-Tronics Corp. (now ArcBest Technologies) in 1993. He also served as Manager of E-Systems & Market Development and Manager of E-Commerce at ABF Freight® and Director of E-Systems & Emerging Technologies and Director of Economic Analysis at ArcBest Corporation. He was named ArcBest’s Chief Financial Officer in 2010, and in August 2013, his responsibilities were expanded to oversee corporate information technology and economic analysis as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer. He served as ArcBest's CFO and CIO through the end of 2014.

He holds a bachelor's degree in computer information systems from the University of Arkansas, which awarded him the Senior Honor Citation, the university’s top undergraduate honor. He also holds an M.B.A. from the Walton College at the University of Arkansas and received the Donald W. Reynolds Governor’s Cup for promoting entrepreneurship.

Gary Cummings
FleetNet America

Gary W. Cummings is Chief Executive Officer of FleetNet America®, an ArcBest® company, a position he’s held since July 1, 2011. Previously he was FleetNet’s President and Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Cummings began with the company in January 2005 as Vice President of Corporate Services. Before joining FleetNet, he oversaw the information technology department of a former less-than-truckload subsidiary of ArcBest from 2000 to 2005. He also previously served in various financial capacities at ArcBest from 1992 to 2000.

Mr. Cummings is an active member of the Technology & Maintenance Council of the American Trucking Associations and he is involved in various industry activities. He grew up in the transportation industry, working in a trucking company that was owned and managed by his parents. Over the years, Mr. Cummings has worked with multiple modes of transportation including LTL, truckload, intermodal and brokerage. He is a graduate of Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, Okla., and a Certified Public Accountant.

John Wood
FleetNet America

Mr. Wood joined FleetNet in 2012 as Executive Vice President of Finance & Administration, bringing over 27 years of expertise in finance and administration management. Prior to joining FleetNet, he was Controller for DeWitt Petroleum, CFO of GI Trucking and Revenue Control Manager for Carolina Freight Carriers. He became President of FleetNet on December 1, 2018.
