ArcBest Employee Training Program Recognized
FORT SMITH, Arkansas, February 20, 2018 — ArcBest® (Nasdaq: ARCB), a leading logistics company with creative problem solvers who deliver integrated solutions, is pleased to announce that its employee training program placed 12th among Training magazine’s 2018 Training Top 125, which ranks companies’ excellence in employer-sponsored training and development programs.
The ArcBest training program appears on the list for the ninth consecutive year; it ranked 13th in 2017 and 23rd in 2016.
“Our ArcBest core value of Growth inspires us to grow our people so that we can grow our business. Our investment in employee development is a foundational aspect of our culture,” said Jason Turner, ArcBest vice president – Talent and Growth Initiatives.
Training magazine highlighted two ArcBest programs: the ArcBest Leadership Series, which is designed to strengthen the leadership skills of current and future leaders at the organization, and the ArcBest Leadership Academy, which helps engage high-potential employees while preparing them for future leadership roles within the company.
“Our team has a goal of ensuring every employee in our organization has the opportunity for ongoing personal and professional growth,” said Erin Gattis, ArcBest chief human resources officer. “It’s exciting to be recognized for the continued evolution of our development programs and for it to be among some very tough competition.”
Now in its 18th year, the Training Top 125 is based on total training budget; percentage of payroll; number of training hours per employee program; goals, evaluation, measurement and workplace surveys; hours of training per employee annually; and detailed formal programs. The ranking is determined by assessing a range of qualitative and quantitative factors, including financial investment in employee development, the scope of development programs, and how closely such development efforts are linked to business goals and objectives.
“The 2018 Training Top 125 winners are game changers,” said Training magazine Editor-in-Chief Lorri Freifeld. “They constantly look for innovative ways to effectively deliver and measure employee training, and they are rewarded with an engaged, passionate workforce and organizational success.”
The 2018 rankings were unveiled at a Feb. 12 awards gala during the Training 2018 Conference & Expo held in Atlanta, Georgia. The full list appears in the January/February 2018 issue of Training magazine and online at trainingmag.com.
